Our research group in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics (ERENEA) was created in 2004, joining two existing research team of the University of Vigo: Natural Resource Economics (fisheries and aquaculture) and Environmental Economics (applied to rural and natural areas).

The group’s field of investigation is wide and comprises three main areas: Fishery Economics, Forestry and Natural Resource Economics and Economic Assessment of Environmental Externalities. Other fields of interest are Economic Theory and Tourism Economics.

Along general lines, the research we carry out aims to apply economic analysis techniques to problems concerning renewable natural resource management and damage analysis (market and non-market) of the pollution caused by production and consumption processes.
